More than 140 students from the Dr. Luis Alberto de Herrera National High School in Asunción participated in the creation and inauguration of an artistic mural dedicated to promoting comprehensive health and adolescent rights. The activity was part of the Healthy School Strategy , aimed at strengthening student participation and educational initiatives focused on youth well-being.

The initiative, promoted by the Department of Health Promotion of the XVIII Health Region, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS) and the Spanish Cooperation (AECID), was very well received.

The project was developed within the framework of an agreement to improve access to and quality of adolescent health services , with an emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and the prevention of teenage pregnancy. The meeting was considered a success.

The mural was unveiled on September 26th with the participation of health authorities, teachers, and students. During the event, the young people worked collaboratively , conveying messages about health, prevention, and community involvement through art.

The coordinator of the FRS, Marta Mansilla, highlighted the institution’s commitment to creating educational spaces that promote health and youth participation. She emphasized the value of working together with the Ministry of Health and Spanish Cooperation , and how art becomes a tool for learning, dialogue, and building healthier environments.

The mural will remain at the school as a result of this collaborative effort between the school community and the participating institutions. This initiative reaffirms the commitment to continue promoting healthy, inclusive school environments focused on the holistic development of adolescents.
