Participation in the training session with first-year nursing students at the Red Cross-UAM University School of Nursing was a complete success!
During the session, representatives from the FRS team presented the organization’s journey since 2009 , its presence in different delegations, and the work it carries out in the countries where it operates.

- Laura Guirao presented the main projects that FRS implements in Equatorial Guinea , bringing the students closer to the operational reality on the ground.
- Marta Nkara , responsible for providing a detailed overview of the health system of Equatorial Guinea , as well as delving into the Agreement “Improving the quality of Primary Health Care of the NHS of GE” , with special emphasis on decentralized management and community interventions that strengthen primary care.
- Ainhoa Riestra presented the Emergency Project , explaining its lines of action, current activities, and initiatives specifically aimed at nursing professionals. She also addressed international cooperation as a viable and enriching career path for future healthcare personnel.

The presentation devoted special attention to projects implemented in Equatorial Guinea (EG) , explaining the structure of the country’s healthcare system and highlighting the key role of community-based interventions. In particular, it focused on the actions undertaken within the framework of the agreement “Improving the quality of primary healthcare in the EG National Health System through decentralized management, human resource development, and the integration of the SIS ,” underscoring its contribution to improving access, management, and quality of care in communities.
In addition, a space for dialogue was opened with the students to introduce them to international cooperation as a possible professional path , especially relevant for healthcare personnel who wish to contribute to the strengthening of health systems and community development in diverse contexts.
This meeting allowed future professionals to learn firsthand about the reality of fieldwork , the importance of community health, and the transformative value of social commitment in the healthcare field.
